Choosing a new straight razor for sale can be a hard task. Especially if you are new at this. These reusable knives used for shaving (once the principal method for manual shaving), come in different qualities and prices, as most thing in life.
When deciding for a new razor, don’t go for the cheapest product you can buy, the reason for this is that you may not get the results you want, and can end up disappointed by straight razors. On the other hand if you choose the most expensive straight razor you can find, you could be throwing money to the trash, because straight razor shaving is not something for everyone.
The best advice for a new straight razor is a carbon steel blade, easy to keep sharp and very reliable. Of course it would be better to acquire a stainless steel straight razor. Though it is harder to hone, it keeps it sharp edge much longer than a carbon straight razor, plus it is perfect for places with high humidity, thanks to its resistance to corrosion.
So, the basic advice would be to be in the middle for now. Later maybe you’ll like it so much that you’ll end up collecting straight razors from Europe and Pakistan. Why not? Straight razor shaving is a great experience lost in time.
