Are You Adding Years to Your Face?
>
We are always told we can’t stop aging, but what if you are the one who is contributing for the aging signs to appear in the first place?
We live our lives day by day, applying skin care creams to always look healthy and young but at the same time, we fail to avoid the things that make our skin look old and tired. If you want to stop the signs of aging on your face, here are some things that you can do – or control.
Stop smoking. Smoking is great if you want to look older and unhealthy. Besides its terrible effects in our lungs, breath, teeth, etc., it also affects the skin giving it a dull, yellowish complexion. Some medical studies even suggest that smoking over a long period of time helps develop leathery and deeply wrinkled skin.
Stop the “facial exercises”. I’ve heard the advice many times: “Do – fill with the exercise of your choice - to keep you face muscles toned!” Well, the truth is that making certain expressions over a long period of time can actually develop wrinkles (with the help of other factors). Does this means that you have to keep a stone face all day? Not at all, just relax, express yourself as you want, but there’s no need of extra face exercises.
Drink plenty of water. You better drink at least eight glasses of water (not soft drinks, no coffee) a day if you care about your skin. Our bodies work mainly with this element, and it is our responsibility to keep or bodies hydrated. By keeping your body hydrated your skin will resist better the aging process.
Try sleeping on your back. Over the years, our sleeping posture can determine the wrinkles on your face. Although I don’t think this could pose a major problem to people who move a lot during sleep, it can certainly have an impact on people who sleep on their faces all their life.
